The Midi-Pyrenees / Gers region
This is sunflower country although Gascony in south-west France is still largely a farming area. As well as sunflowers the area is known for foie gras, Armagnac and Pousse Rapierre (made at Château Monluc in the nearby village of St Puy).
Predominantly rural and undiscovered Le Gers offers an authentic taste of France.
Condom / St Puy area
Alongside the fruits of the land are many historical fortified towns, Fourcès, Montréal, Romieu and numerous Abbeys, these are nestled between the larger cathedral towns of Condom, Lectoure and Fleurance each with their own markets (Fleurance being the most visited). Slightly further afield are the historic towns of Agen (Canal du Midi/Canal du Garonne) Montauban, Albi. Pau and Lourdes.
The area is midway between the thriving cities of Bordeaux and Toulouse (each approx 85kms away). To the south are the numerous ski resorts of the French Pyrenees (often visible as you drive along the local roads).
A great spot to unwind on holiday or to use as a base for house-hunting.

Walibi Aquitaine Amusement Park
Everyone knows the Walibi amusement parks, which guarantee a day of fun, excitement and adventure. Also for the smaller children Walibi is a fun day out! In addition to fast roller coasters, there are also attractions for the whole family. Walibi Aquitaine is located in Roquefort, just 5 km southwest of Agen. The park has recently expanded.
